Daily Bread
John 1:5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Most of us live our lives surrounded by the darkness of the world. Whether it is school, work, daily
activities or errands, or in our homes with the television, we are surrounded by the world. We must
hold onto the truth that God's light is within us. If we focus on Him, His light will shine through us.
Not only to lighten the corners of our world, but to lighten our lives as well. Darkness cannot
overwhelm us if we live with God's light to guide us. When we feel overwhelmed or overcome, we
have God's promise that His light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
That is promise, hope and love fulfilled within us.
God, help me to focus on You. Give me clear vision and focus and help me to allow your
light to shine through in all that I do. When I am overwhelmed and overcome, be my
strength and comfort. May all I do bring glory to your kingdom. Amen
